Has Ukraine’s Former President Poroshenko Provoked Divine Justice?
A Turkish family’s humanitarian mission in Ukraine turned into a tale of injustice under Poroshenko’s regime. As Ukraine faces its own trials amid war, parallels emerge, raising questions about justice. Can President Zelensky lead with moral courage, address past wrongs, and uphold democratic principles?

Has Ukraine’s Former President Poroshenko Provoked Divine Justice?
A Story of Hope Turned into Tragedy
In the heart of Mykolaiv, Ukraine, a Turkish family symbolized hope, unity, and humanitarian compassion. Through their foundation, Fond İnan, they provided food, clothing, and support to the poor, orphans, and families of fallen soldiers.
Founded by a Turkish journalist and entrepreneur who moved to Ukraine in 2013, the foundation bridged cultural and national divides. With his Ukrainian wife and two young daughters, Elif and Ayşe, the founder also raised livestock to ensure impoverished communities had access to fresh, high-quality meat.
Through an innovative e-commerce platform, Turkish donors worldwide contributed livestock, trusting the foundation to distribute the meat transparently and equitably. The mission transcended religion, ethnicity, and language—an inspiring example of humanity at its best.
But this story of compassion took a dark turn on July 12, 2018.

A Morning of Injustice
On that day, Ukrainian intelligence officers raided the founder’s home without warning or proper identification. They physically assaulted him as he tended his flock. His wife, attempting to protect him, was also attacked, handcuffed, and taken away. Their two infant daughters, Elif (1.5 years) and Ayşe (9 months), were left alone in the house. The sheep scattered, many lost.
The charge? "Terrorism."
In reality, it was because we refused to pay the demanded bribe.
Under the regime of then-President Petro Poroshenko, this humanitarian leader and his foundation were labeled enemies of the state. A rushed trial followed, with allegations that the presiding judge acted under direct orders from the highest levels of government.
Despite no evidence of wrongdoing, the journalist was deported, stripped of his residency, and separated from his family. His daughters, now growing up in a war-torn Ukraine, have been without their father for nearly seven years.
Parallels with Ukraine’s Current Struggles
Fast forward to February 24, 2022—the day Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Missiles, airstrikes, and artillery rained down, devastating cities and displacing millions. Families were torn apart, homes reduced to rubble, and communities plunged into despair.
The suffering endured by the İnan family in 2018 now mirrored the collective agony of Ukraine as a nation. Some see this as a haunting parallel—could these events signify a form of moral or divine justice for the systemic injustices under Poroshenko’s leadership?
Zelensky’s Opportunity to Lead with Justice
President Volodymyr Zelensky is not responsible for the sins of his predecessor, but his silence on past injustices raises questions about Ukraine’s commitment to justice and democratic principles.
The İnan family’s ordeal represents more than a personal tragedy; it highlights systemic failures that demand accountability. Zelensky has an opportunity to demonstrate moral leadership by addressing these past wrongs.
Acknowledging Fond İnan’s humanitarian contributions and extending an olive branch to the İnan family would not only heal old wounds but also strengthen Ukraine’s image as a nation that upholds justice, even in times of adversity.
Why This Matters to the World
The plight of the İnan family is a microcosm of broader narratives of war, displacement, and human suffering. It reminds us that no nation can credibly fight for freedom and sovereignty without addressing its internal injustices.
For Ukraine to sustain global support, it must align its domestic policies with the democratic values it champions on the world stage. Justice and accountability are not just moral imperatives—they are strategic necessities for securing international trust and legitimacy.
A Call to Action
To President Zelensky: A public acknowledgment of Fond İnan’s contributions and an investigation into past injustices could set a powerful precedent. It would show Ukrainians and the world that Ukraine stands as a beacon of justice and integrity, even amidst immense challenges.
To global leaders and citizens: Stories like this deserve attention. Ukraine’s struggle for freedom is not limited to the battlefield; it is also a fight for the principles of justice and fairness that form the foundation of any democratic society.
Justice Awaits
History teaches us that no leader or nation is immune to accountability. While Poroshenko may no longer hold power, his actions cast a lingering shadow over Ukraine. Addressing these injustices is not just about moral reckoning—it is a crucial step in building a stronger, fairer Ukraine.
The İnan family waits, as does the world, to see if justice will finally prevail.
